The Poisoner : Like Bridgerton, but with Vampires

The Poisoner : Like Bridgerton, but with Vampires

THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS. IDK. I'M JUST WINGING IT

When I started reading The Poisoner by I.V. Ophelia, I went into it completely blind. All I knew was that it was supposed to be "dark". After making it through the first couple chapters I asked myself, "Self, Is this book about fucking VAMPIRES? Have I accidentally started reading Twilight 2.0!?" I had to pause and go back and read the synopsis again because this "creature" was most definitely a vampire. Color me intrigued.

Turns out it wasn't Twilight 2.0, but rather Bridgerton, but more "Victorian" and with vampires.

It was a slow burn, enemies to lovers with a strong but slightly broken and alcohol dependent FMC  and a completely unhinged stalker MMC.

If "period play" makes you queasy, theres at least one scene you should skip. Like Twilight, apparently the sun has no effect on these vampires, and blood isn't the only body fluid they drink. They're like a snake/cat/human hybrid with folding fangs- not just in the mouth, and i'll leave you to figure out where the others are located, venom, poisonous blood and an insatiable appetite for human flesh. YUM!

Im not sure how much more I can say to convince you to read this one, but Ill say that I really enjoyed it and Im looking forward to Arachnid when it is released. I gave it a solid 5 stars for an original story and a 4 spice because there was definitely plot.
